Domestic Disturbance Leads to Drug and Gun Arrest in Shreveport
Over the weekend Shreveport Police got a call about a couple having a loud argument inside a car at the Rain Tree Apartments on Millicent Way.
SPD pulled in to the apartments and located the car, and found Clayton Jones in the driver's seat along with a woman in the passenger seat. Police were able to confirm that these two were the ones involved in the argument.
While talking to the couple an SPD officer smelled marijuana coming from the car. The couple were both detained. When Police asked Jones if there was a gun in the car, he said no. During a search of the car, police found a 9mm handgun under the driver's seat.
Jones was arrested and charged with one count of Felony Possession of Marijuana and one count of Illegal Possession of a Handgun in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
