Get Ready for Change as 50 Cent Talks Shreveport’s Future
The public will have a chance to hear more about the plan to bring big time film and tv projects to Shreveport. Curtis 50 Cent Jackson is in town for what’s being billed as a “fireside chat” to answer questions from the public.
When and Where Is 50 Cent Event Public Forum in Shreveport
This event is Wednesday at 6pm at the Convention Center in downtown Shreveport. The doors open at 4pm and once the event starts, the doors will be closed and no one will be allowed to enter. Organizers urge you to get there early to get a seat. 50 Cent will be at the event and is open to discussing his plan and vision for Shreveport.

Orville Hall, Growth Advisor for G-Unit Studios says they are prepared to discuss the delays in getting things moving, but he tells KEEL News there have been flooding issues at the Millennium Studios property which is where G-Unit plans to locate a large part of the operation. The flooding issues are still not solved. During the heavy rains on Monday, water got into the building again. Mayor Tom Arceneaux sent this statement to KEEL News:
“There was some water intrusion into the building today. We met with G-Unit officials on-site to evaluate and begin to problem-solve for the short-term and long-term.”
But we do know G-Unit will not likely move high dollar equipment into the building until the flooding issues are solved.
But Hall still maintains that this plan will be a game changer for our community. He says “I think a lot of people slept on Shreveport. Shreveport has what it needs to be a great city.”
He says more than 700 people have already signed up to play a role in this operation. But Hall says this will also attract folks from out of town. Mayor Tom Arceneaux welcomes that news. He says we have to find ways to bring more people to our city. He says as more people move here, we expand our tax base and can offer more services.
What Are the Plans for Downtown Shreveport?
Hall says Jackson is planning to bring back an entertainment district to the area. He’s planning restaurants, housing, a hotel and more to change the footprint of the downtown. G-Unit and the city are negotiating a possible deal in the Red River District. Mayor Arceneaux says right now the city is considering leasing a few of the buildings in the district to the Jackson team.
Hall encourages skeptics to attend the Wednesday meeting. You will have a chance to use a QR code to ask questions directly to Curtis Jackson.
