Convicted Felon with Handgun Arrested by Shreveport Police
SHREVEPORT, LA- Convicted Felon Arrested Following Suspicious Person Call
In the early morning hours of August 30th, at approximately 4:00 AM, Shreveport Police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Spring Hill Street in response to a call regarding a suspicious person. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a man had been observed entering a residence through a doggy door, raising concerns among neighbors.
A man matching the provided description was located in close proximity to the scene, sitting in a vehicle. Officers made contact with the individual, later identified as 35-year-old Kyle King. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that King was in possession of a handgun, despite being prohibited from doing so due to his status as a convicted felon. Additionally, King was found to have narcotics and narcotics paraphernalia.
As a result, Kyle King was arrested by Shreveport Police Patrol officers and charged with the following:
- One count of possession of a Schedule II narcotic
- One count of illegal carrying of a firearm
- One count of possession of drug paraphernalia
- One count of being a felon in possession of a firearm
The Shreveport Police Department continues to take firearms offenses incredibly seriously and remains committed to removing these individuals and their weapons from our streets.
