Caddo Detectives Investigating a Fatality Involving a Train

Caddo Sheriff's Detectives are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred yesterday evening in south Caddo Parish.

The accident happened just after 7:00 PM on the railroad tracks near the intersection of Preston Road and Keithville-Keatchie Road. Deputies reported that the engineer and conductor of the train noticed a person on the tracks.

The train activated its emergency system and attempted to stop, but was unable to do so in time, resulting in a fatal collision with the individual. The Caddo Fire District EMTs arrived at the scene and pronounced the individual dead on the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation, and the victim's name will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
