Again this year Candystore.com conducted a survey to determine America's favorite Halloween candies.

Looking over America's favorites for the past 17 years, they determined that Reese's Peanut Butter Cups had been dethroned as America's favorite for Halloween.

In a twist no one saw coming, M&M’s have dethroned Reese's Cups as the top Halloween candy for the first time ever.

While the survey didn't qualify if the M&M's were the plain, peanut, peanut butter or what variety, to think they moved ahead of Reese's was truly a shocker.

However, in even more shocking news, for the second year in a row, the survey shows that this year's Number One Halloween candy in Louisiana is Lemonheads.

Wait, what? Is there a world-wide Snickers shortage? Did all the Reese's melt? How did Lemonheads get to be number one?

While not hated as much as Circus Peanuts or Black Licorice, Lemonheads can't represent our entire state can they?  Apparently they do, and it looks like we are the only state touting them as our favorites.

Another mind-altering statistic we found shows that Candy Corn continues to gain popularity and is now more popular than Hershey Kisses and Butterfinger.

There's something wrong with the world these days.
