Why does it feel like no one is talking about the end of the Leonard Fournette era?

This Saturday was supposed to be LSU vs. South Alabama in Baton Rouge, a game where you could have expected Leonard Fournette to rush for 200+ yards during the pre-season. Which would have been a tremendous sendoff for the LSU great.

But after the postponement of the Florida game (Hurricane Matthew) earlier this season, this date was the only date both schools could make work for the SEC contest, so here we are.

Florida might be a great farewell too, Fournette's two career performances against the Gators have resulted in 140 rushing yards (2014) and 180 rushing yards (2015). If Fournette continues his Florida-trend, he could be looking at a 200+ yard game.

But that will all depend on Fournette's health. So let's check that with the Louisiana Radio Network:

"LSU running back Leonard Fournette says he’ll be ready for Saturday’s game against Florida, despite an ankle injury that’s bothered him all season long. Fournette’s injury gave sophomore running back Derrius Guice more opportunities and the Baton Rouge product has taken advantage.

Guice leads the team in rushing and has nine touchdowns. Fournette was impressed with Guice’s school-record 96 yard rushing touchdown last week.

Saturday is expected to be Fournette’s last game in Tiger Stadium, because he’s expected to enter the NFL draft."
