As I was driving into work this morning on I-220, I caught sight of one of those big flashing signs and thought to myself, "Did that just say that 220 is going to be closed for 3 days?" After a little clicking around on the Louisiana DOTD website, I found that was the case for sure.

I-220 will be closed by East and Westbound from I-20 near Pines Road to North Market from Friday, May 15 until Monday, May 18 at 4:00 am (depending on weather)

Here's the info exactly as it appears on their site.

Motorists are advised that on Friday, May 15, 2015, work will begin for installation of temporary concrete barrier walls in the westbound lane on I-220 and new transmission lines across I-220. This work is necessary to continue new construction of the I-49 North/I-220 Interchange.

Additionally, work will begin for installation of overhead sign trusses on I-220 on the Cross Lake Bridge, as well as near the Lakeshore, Jefferson Paige and Inner Loop exits.

All lanes of I-220 both Westbound and Eastbound will be closed to all traffic from the west Intersection with I-20 to LA1 / US71 (North Market Street). This work is anticipated to last two days (2) and three (3) nights weather permitting

The lane/road closures will be in place 24 hours a day from 8:00 pm on Friday, May 15, 2015 until 4:00 am Monday, May 18, 2015.

The road closure is scheduled to end on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 4:00 am.
