We have just gotten word from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development that next Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5, work is scheduled for a large section of I-20 in the Shreveport area that is certain to delay traffic.

Both days, Saturday and Sunday, between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, the Department of Transportation advised they will be conducting moving operations, shoulder work and intermittent lane closures on I-20 eastbound and westbound between Monkhouse Drive and I-49.

These closures are necessary to allow for survey work associated with the drainage structure along this corridor.

As with all DOTD projects, the work will be done weather permitting, so the days and/or hours of this work period are subject to change.

The DOTD would also like to let you know that they appreciate your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
