Is Hoodbachi Tacos Closing Permanently? Everything We Know So Far
The culinary landscape of Shreveport-Bossier is famously vibrant, but every so often, a spot comes along that is so good, locals are more than happy to wait in a long line just for a taste.
Hoodbachi Tacos is exactly that kind of place. Far from your typical eatery, it has built a cult following by serving up "hood tacos," loaded fries, and massive rice bowls that you didn’t even know you needed until you saw them.
From the signature Hoodbachi Tacos, stuffed with seasoned beef, shrimp, chicken, and jalapeños on thick flour tortillas, to the legendary Boss Bachi, a mountain of steak, salmon, and shrimp, the portions here are as loud as the flavors. However, for the "Hoodbachi Fanatics," the days of satisfying those specific cravings might be coming to a screeching halt.
Owner Mike Wilson recently took to social media to thank the community for two years of incredible support while sharing the shocking news: he is closing the brick-and-mortar location on December 31st. "This decision to close was heavy," Wilson shared on Facebook, "but know it’s all love. It’s not the end, y’all will hear from me soon."
When Townsquare Media reached out for comment, the staff indicated they would reach a final decision and reach out by the end of the week.
While the news has left many wondering if this is a temporary hiatus or a strategic move, there is a silver lining. Since Hoodbachi originated as a mobile setup, many hope the brand will return to its roots and continue serving the 318 via its popular food truck.
For now, you have until New Year's Eve to grab one last Boss Bachi. Hoodbachi Taco is located at 1704 Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71103.
