There's an old adage that's once again proven it's true wisdom. "No good deed goes unpunished."

That's the story of Haughton High School Guidance Counselor, Carey Waldron. Her recent Facebook post hit a personal nerve with me as my youngest son is actually spending his last day at Haughton High School as I write this article.

Graduating seniors from Haughton are annually treated to a special send-off from Carey as she discusses in her Facebook post from this past Tuesday night. (May 11)

She writes:

Can you imagine the anger, disgust and ultimate disappointment she felt as she discovered the vandalism of these signs?

Teachers, counselors and educators of all forms have just gone through a year of near total hell. They've waded through uncharted waters in unprecedented times having to teach to a combination of "in class" and "virtual" students for an entire year.

They've gone above and beyond to bring some semblance of "normality" in completely "un-normal" times, and this is their reward?

First off, THANK YOU Mrs. Waldron for caring! Thank you for your dedication and commitment to the students of Haughton High School.

But now straight to the core of the issue. Let's get her signs back!!!!
