Gwen Stefani Gives Blake Shelton Shoutout at People's Choice

When Gwen Stefani was honored with the Fashion Icon Award at the 2019 People's Choice Awards on Sunday (Nov. 10), she made sure to give a shoutout to a special someone in the audience — her boyfriend, Blake Shelton.

The superstar artist ascended the stage at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., donning a white Vera Wang gown and black gloves to accept the honor, and the first person she mentioned in her speech was Shelton.

"Blake Shelton look — icon!" she proclaims in the video above, gesturing to her outfit as the camera pans to show the country star laughing from his seat. What followed was a heartfelt speech from Stefani about her love of fashion and how it's always been a part of the fabric of her artistry.

"I just always, always loved fashion. It was just one of those very instinctual things," she explained, attributing her fashion skills to the generations of women before her, including her mom and grandma, who all sewed clothes. "It was always there, so the fact that this is happening now is hard to imagine, because it’s just what I do.”

She concluded the speech by announcing that she was giving the award to her 11-year-old son, Zuma, and offering another nod to the country star.

"I love you Blake Shelton, you're a babe," she shouted before heading off the stage.

The power couple made their way down the red carpet together before the show, and Shelton later took home the trophy for Country Artist of 2019.

Shelton and Stefani are on the judging panel for the fourth time together on The Voice, currently in its 17th season on NBC. They met on the show in 2015 and started dating after both of their marriages ended in divorce.
