Golf Tournament To Help Blanchard Allstars In World Series
To say that I'm a little biased when it comes to the Blanchard Athletic Club would be an understatement.
Having grown up in this amazing northwestern Louisiana community, I can remember when the complex only featured two fields. And the "concession stand" was the ice chest in the bed of Mr. Gipson's pickup truck. Now it's one of the finer complexes in the entire area.
The memories there have lasted a lifetime. Especially the ones of the games that were completely forgotten for the moment by younger players when a train passed by on the tracks nearby.
The Blanchard 12U Boys Team Is The Undefeated Louisiana State Champions
So, when the good news erupted from Blanchard that the 12 and Under Allstars just went undefeated in the state tournament to earn the honor of being Louisiana State Champions and will represent our state next week at the Dixie World Series in North Carolina, I couldn't have been more proud than if I had a boy on the team myself.
To help them raise much needed funds for the costly trip, the team is holding a number of fundraisers and one of those is a golf tournament which will be held tomorrow, Saturday, July 30 beginning at 9:00 am at Northwood Hills Golf Club.
Here's All You Need To Know About The Golf Tournament
The tournament will consist of foursome teams and entry is $200 by check or cash only.
They'll also have fish plates available for $20 and a silent auction with some pretty awesome auction items.
Those interested in participating or sponsoring the event should contact Julia Ashby at (318) 422-7657
Good luck boys! Go win this thing!!!
