Gas Station Homicide Suspect Caught in Shreveport
A Shreveport man has been charged with a homicide that occurred Wednesday (7/21/21). Shreveport Police responded to the 2800 block of Hilry Huckaby Avenue relative to a shooting. Officers located a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot injuries to the upper body. The victim was identified as 32 year-old Patrick Goines, and was transported to Ochsner Health where he was pronounced deceased.
SPD and Violent Crimes and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene. Multiple witnesses were interviewed and investigators reviewed the businesses’ surveillance systems. Detectives were able to determine that a man later identified as Emmanuel D. Johnson was responsible for the shooting and death of the victim. Investigators got an arrest warrant for Johnson on July 21, 2021, charging Johnson with one count of Second Degree Murder. His bond was set at $350,000.
On July 22, 2021, Johnson surrendered himself to Shreveport Police Violent Crimes Detectives. Following an interview with investigators, he was booked into the Shreveport City Jail. This investigation remains ongoing.
