Chopped-Style Competition: Shreveport Chefs Face Mystery Basket
On Wednesday, October 15th, the Remington Suite Hotel on Travis Street transformed into a bustling foodie paradise. This ultra-premium event is famous for selling out quickly every year, and for good reason; it offered a sneak peek at the competition's high stakes while delivering unforgettable dishes and cocktails.
The 'Come and Get It' experience paired six local Semi-Finalist Chefs with six acclaimed Celebrity Mentor Chefs. Attendees, packed wall-to-wall with enthusiasts from across the Ark-La-Tex, were given two tokens to vote for their favorite chef.
The mission was clear: taste every high-concept creation and cast a vote for the most memorable bite. Beyond the food, local mixologists competed fiercely for the prestigious Golden Shaker award. It was a tough, delicious job.
Meet the Finalists for the Golden Fork Battle
The intense culinary competition determined the top three finalists advancing to the final showdown: Jasmine Cherry (The Noble Savage), Chelsea Girard (Heron/Mae & Company), and Dylan Teekell (Library on Fern).
The final Golden Fork Battle, originally postponed due to inclement weather during Prize Fest, has been officially rescheduled.
New Date Announced for BPCC Culinary Showdown
The Prize Foundation announced the ultimate culinary showdown will now be held on Tuesday, November 18th at 5:00 PM at Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC). The event is free and open to the public and will take place outdoors in BPCC’s main quad.
The three local finalists will participate in a classic, high-pressure, "Chopped-style" mystery basket cookoff. They will serve their final dishes to a panel of celebrity judges to determine who will take home the coveted Golden Fork award and the $5,000 grand prize. Executive Director Gregory Kallenberg invites the community to come out and cheer on these incredible chefs!
