Firemen Needed for Help In Bastrop, Oil City and Vivian Fires

For People that would like to help with the Oil City/Vivian Fire

The Oil City Fire Dept is asking for donations such as snacks and drinks to be brought to Central Fire Station in Oil City on main road right past red light. There is a Balentine Ambulance and lots of cars there you can not miss it. They are also asking for prayers. Thank you to all in Kiss Country that help!

A report from KSLA notes:

Caddo Fire fighters need food and water for the crews battling the massive wildfires in northern Caddo Parish.

Caddo fire fighters say they desperately need water, Gatorade and snack-type foods. They say anything like granola bars, chips, and nuts would be greatly appreciated.

Donations can be dropped off at the fire district 7 central station on Highway 1 in Oil City.

Relief workers with the Red Cross are on scene to help take in and distribute the food and drink donations.

Anyone interested in donating can bring their donations to the station or the Red Cross local headquarters at 4221 Linwood Ave. Shreveport, La. 71108. Anyone seeking more information from Red Cross relief workers can call 1-318-865-9545.

Also a plea has been sent out via Facebook for help with the Bastrop fire:

ATTENTION TEXAS AND SURROUNDING AREAS.. WE NEED FIREMEN!

Retired, volunteer or any fireman is urged to call number and help.  The post says they were short 25 fireman last night and cannot contain the fire from the town of Bastrop. It is reporting that the fire is 16 miles long, 6 miles wide and has jumped Colorado river. They evacuated entire town and also neighborhood called Steiner ranch of 5500
