Don’t Drink and Drive This Mardi Gras Season
You should never drink and drive. But Law Enforcement Officials in both Shreveport and Bossier are warning motorists to stay off the roads this weekend if they've been drinking to celebrate Mardi Gras.
In Bossier Parish, thanks to a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, will be conducting a sobriety check point Saturday night. The checkpoint will take place at an undisclosed location in the Parish starting at 10 pm. The Louisiana State Police will be assisting Bossier Deputies with the checkpoint.
In Shreveport, SPD have increased their presence thanks funds from the Drive Sober or Get Pulled over campaign. The Shreveport Police Department will be increasing their presence all over the city through February 14th to help prevent drunk driving accidents related to those who have celebrated the carnival season too much. Officials say they want everyone to have a good time and part of that is not hurting yourself or others by driving drunk.
