
Derrick Stafford Sentenced To 40 years In Shooting of Jeremy Mardis
A state district judge has sentenced former Marksville City Marshal Derrick Stafford in the death of 6-year-old Jeremy Mardis.
Our news partners at KATC reported Stafford eas sentenced to 40 years in prison in the death of the autistic child.
He was also sentenced to 15 years for shooting the child's father, Christopher Few.
The sentences will be served concurrently.
The judge ordered the first 20 years of the sentence will be served with without the possibility of parole, probation or a suspended sentence.
Stafford's counterpart in the 2015 incident, Norris Greenhouse Jr., is set to go to trial June 12.
