David Adkinson of Keithville – Caught in the Act Award Recipient

Meet David "Peanut" Adkinson.  David is pretty much one of those "salt of the earth" kind of guys.  Likes to fish and hunt, loves his kids, he works hard, but what makes him stand out is his undying commitment to be a "giver!"

And it's his commitment to that philosophy that made it easy for us to deem him this week's Caught in the Act Award recipient!

When David sees a need, he moves into "giver" mode and fills it!  And until this morning, he was completely oblivious to the fact that Crystal Westerfield was watching him and had made a huge impact in her life.

It was Crystal who nominated "Peanut" for the Caught in the Act Award and her letter fully demonstrates the admiration she holds for him.

I've known this man all 23 years of my life. He has made me the person I am today and for that I am so blessed. For all the time's a friend or family member has called no matter the time of day or how big the problem he always has a answer to fix it. He is the most selfless, giving and caring person I know. When a old friend you haven't seen or spoke to in years calls and asks for help to buy their medications because they have diabetes and need it, he was there. About a year ago he had seen a woman 2 or 3 times at her job struggling to catch a ride back and forth to work to support her 3 kids, so he bought her a car. Just a month ago he was on the way home after a long day at work. He saw a women broke down on the side of the road who had run out of gas. He drove 10 miles the opposite direction to find a gas tank and fill it up with gas. He never asks for anything in return. Since I was little he has always said "there are people who are givers and there are takers" Which one do you want to be in life?

David "Peanut" Adkinson, thank you for being one of the biggest reasons why this is the greatest place in America to live!
