Colt Ford fans looking forward to seeing the country rapper perform in Charleston, Md. on Monday (July 23) will be bummed to know that the concert has been postponed due to safety concerns by local officials.

Ford’s scheduled show — a performance for local country station WXCY — received such a positive response from those wanting to attend, that Wellwood Restaurant feared a good time could turn bad with that many people crammed into such a small location.

Ford is just as disappointed as his fans about the unfortunate situation, but promises them that the show will be rescheduled after some kinks are ironed out to ensure a bigger capacity and the full safety of those in attendance.

“So many people wanted to come to the show, and I am so thankful y’all like what I do enough to want to raise that much hell and want to come see the show,” Ford says in a new video message to his fans. “We’ll figure it out … we’ll find another date. The police were worried about people getting hurt, and I don’t want anybody to get hurt at my show … I want people to have fun. I will be back.”
