Church Holds Service Less than a Week after Devastating Fire
A packed house filled the sanctuary at First Baptist Bossier less than a week after a massive fire destroyed park of the church campus. Pastor Brad Jurkovich says the community response and support has been nothing short of amazing. Investigators believe a battery backup device is what sparked the blaze.
Over 300 women gathered after the service to form a group called, First Women Strong. Jane Smith tells us "We will be involved in helping our church and community come through this rebuilding process with a totally positive attitude. That is important. Monday we will start delivering meals a to fire stations to offer our thanks for their tremendous hard work during the fire at First Bossier. So impressed of the effort! Please continue to pray for our church. Believe me, it makes a difference."
The tedious process of cleaning up the mess from the fire has started and then church leaders will begin to map out a plan to rebuild the complex.
