The third single from Chris Young's I'm Comin' Over album is "Sober Saturday Night," a duet with Vince Gill. The song's lyrics make it sound as though the singer is suffering from a bad hangover -- but, as it progresses, it becomes clear that it's not a song about waking up with a headache; it's a song about waking up alone. Young recently sat down with The Boot to recall the day the song was written, and explain how he got the country music icon to join him on the tune.

I wrote this song with the Warren Brothers. We actually probably spent three and a half or four hours on the first song we wrote that day, and I could not tell you right now what the title of that song was. We spent most of the day on that song, and we got done. We had a little less than an hour left, and they were going to have to go and do family stuff. We were like, "Let’s try to get something started for the next time we get together."

One of the guys sat at a piano and started playing these chords, and we started writing the song, and it just fell out; it was so easy once we got on that concept and that idea. It was such a cool, different way to write a sad song that I was just like, "Oh my God. This is great. This is going on the album." So we spent the whole day on the other song, and I don’t have any idea what it was, and we wrote this one in 45 minutes. From the day we wrote it, it’s been one of my favorites. I’m really glad it’s a single.

We basically just called and asked if Vince wanted to do it, and he said, "Yeah." It seems like it should be much more complicated than that, but I’m glad it wasn’t. It was really just an awesome experience for me. I haven’t hidden that I’m a fan of his either, so being able to go over into his studio and have him as a feature on this song was just incredibly cool.
