One of the National Chimpanzee Sanctuary's largest public events is coming up this weekend.

Chimp Haven's June Fest 2015 runs from 9AM-1PM Saturday at the sanctuary, located in the Eddie D. Jones Park off of Highway 789 in Keithville. It's the second of two annual festivals and promises not to disappoint.

Along with the traditional Chimpanzee Discovery Day, the festival will have a water theme with water balloon relays, chimp egg hunts, face painting and behind-the-scenes tours. Let's not foget, too, that the chimpanzees will be out and about in the habitat. You can bring your cameras and snap a couple of pictures while you're there.

Gifts for the chimps are also encouraged. Peanut butter is always needed, and the person who brings in the most will win a prize package with four passes to a 2015 Chimpanzee Discovery Day and behind-the-scenes tour.

"We are excited to offer June Fest 2015 to the community," said Chimp Haven President and CEO Cathy Spraetz in a news release. "We thank our generous sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible, and we invite all to attend, not only to have fun, but more importantly to see this great sanctuary and learn the importance of its mission."

Admission costs are $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12, and kids 5 and under get in free. Activity tickets are $1 each.
