Country singer and all-around nice guy Casey James has been growing his beard all month long as part of No Shave November -- a charity competition to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The fundraiser's final day just happened to fall on the same day as James' stop at Shreveport's Strand Theatre for the Taste of Country Christmas Tour, prompting the "Crying on a Suitcase" crooner to do something completely unprecedented: shave his furry face live in concert.

James explained to the crowd that a friend of his promised to donate "a big chunk of money" if he shaved the beard during his set. He just couldn't turn down the offer.

Unsurprisingly, the women in the audience loved the unexpected de-bearding. A few screamed "I love you!" and "take it off!" as more and more of James' baby face was revealed with each buzz of the electric razor. His band even played sexy Blues music to perfectly frame the special moment.

"For the record, this is the weirdest thing I've ever done in my life," James announced mid-shave. But that realization didn't stop him from finishing what he started; he eventually cut off everything but a goatee.

"Those in favor of me keeping the goatee for one more song, yell real loud," James asked the enthralled audience. The very loud response recorded, he then said, "Everybody who thinks I should shave all the way right now, yell out." The crowd's decision was obvious: the goatee was safe.
