Three Homicides Bring The Caddo Parish 2023 Murder Number to 10
The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office have released the names of 3 homicide victims. Three Shreveport residents were killed between Thursday (2/9/23) and Sunday (2/12/23).
All 3 of these homicides are still under investigation.
A Shreveport woman shot and killed in Queensborough late Thursday, February 9, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.
Huleta Donshay Hughes, 37, was shot and killed at a residence in the 2600 block of West College Street just before 11:45 p.m.
Ms. Hughes, the eighth homicide of 2023 for Shreveport and Caddo Parish, was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.
The death remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which media should direct further inquiries.
An autopsy was ordered.
A man shot and mortally wounded in West Shreveport late Saturday, February 11, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.
Schuncey Bernard Bates of Shreveport, 45, was shot in the 4700 block of Greenwood Road just after 9 p.m. He was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 9:38 p.m.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which media should direct further inquiries.
The shooting is the ninth homicide in Shreveport and Caddo Parish to date this year.
An autopsy was ordered.
A man shot and killed in north Shreveport early Sunday, February 12, 2023, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.
Marcus Thornton, 38, of Shreveport, was pronounced deceased at an apartment in the 1900 block of North Hearne Avenue at 2:43 a.m.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department, to which further inquiries should be directed.
The slaying is the 10th homicide in Shreveport and Caddo Parish to date in 2023.
An autopsy was ordered.
