If you were to walk into my home right now, you would immediately notice a crazy amount of artwork covering the walls. Except for maybe one or two random pieces, every single thing I hang up comes straight from a Shreveport-Bossier artist. To say that I love our local art scene is a massive understatement. I am obsessed with the talent we have in our community.

I love local art in all shapes and sizes, but right now, the Bossier Arts Council is giving us a total "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" moment that I am losing my mind over.

Get Ready for "Pocket-Sized", A Miniature Art Show

This isn't your average gallery stroll. For this special open-call showcase, local creators had to follow one strict, hilariously tiny guideline: every single piece of artwork submitted had to be 3 inches or smaller.

There were absolutely no limits on materials, mediums, or subject matter, the only rule was to make it micro! And our incredibly talented community totally understood the assignment, bringing in over 100 miniature submissions.

Grab Your Magnifying Glass!

Because these pieces are so incredibly small, you’re going to need a little help to see all the magic. To add to the fun, BAC is handing out mini-magnifying glasses to visitors as they walk in!

You will literally get to hold a magnifying glass up to the gallery walls to peruse the tiny masterpieces. It is the ultimate hands-on experience, and it's wild to see how these artists crammed so much mind-blowing detail, creativity, and texture into a space smaller than a business card. It completely proves that big creative things really do come in microscopic packages.
