In 2008, he took over Lubbock’s First News on KFYO. In October 2012, The Chad Hasty Show has shifted from time slot to time slot before finally settling in at 5-7pm at the end of 2020. In 2016, Hasty was appointed by Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to the Elections Advisory Committee as the only representative from West Texas. In 2019, he was re-appointed to the same committee. In his coverage of state news, Chad has interviewed senators, representatives, governors, presidential candidates, authors and local officials. He is also an expert-in-the-making of all things Oldest in Texas Hasty enjoys talking politics, sports, cigars and anything else that's on the listeners' minds.
