I love the bumper sticker that says, "If you can read this, thank a teacher. And since it's in American, thank a Vet." Truer words couldn't be spoken. There's another one that I'm especially fond of. "Only two men have died for you. Jesus Christ and a Vet".

Veterans are near and dear to my soul, so when we received a nomination letter from Tammy McKenzie telling us of the care and love she exhibits daily for our Vets, it nearly took my breath away.

The kindness and dedication that Ashley gives our Vets made her a shoe-in for this week's Kiss Country Caught in the Act Award.

Just take a look at that letter and you'll see.

Ashley is a CNA supervisor at the northwest la war veterans home. She is a very hard worker and will give you the shirt off her back. She has done numerous accounts of good deeds. When we are short staffed day or night she will get out of bed and come to work to ensure our residents are well taken care of. During the snow storm she spent numerous days here without even going home to her family to ensure we had adequate staffing and our residents were taken care of. She had helped out many of the CNAs that work in our facility that are having hard time whether it be paying their electric bill, helping with their rent or even simple buying them lunch when they couldn’t afford it. She goes above and beyond each day for the residents and cna staff. That’s why I think she is deserving of this nomination

Ashley Summage, thank you for being so amazing! You are a big reason why this is the greatest place in America to live! And because you've been 'Caught in the Act' the gang at Silver Star Smokehouse have a $100 Gift Certificate for you and the family to come have dinner!

Take a listen to the phone call we made to Ashley to let her know that she was this week's Caught In The Act Award recipient.
