Shreveport Police Patrol Officers and Violent Crimes Investigators have jailed a man following what was described as a “rolling gun battle” in east Shreveport Monday (3/14/22) morning.
Just before 10:30 a.m., Shreveport Police responded to reports of multiple shots fired between two moving vehicles near the intersection of East Washington Street and Youree Drive.
Arriving officers located a silver Toyota Camry in the parking lot behind a business near the intersection and noticed that the car had multiple bullet holes. Officers approached the car and three men inside attempted to flee but were quickly apprehended.
Violent Crimes Investigators responded to the scene and through their investigation learned that 21 year-old Devoris Hardy reportedly fired a handgun aimed at another vehicle multiple times. The weapon was located behind a home in the area. Police believe that the other vehicle involved in the incident was a white Dodge Charger and investigators are asking all residents in the area to check their camera systems.
If you have any video or other information that may help in this investigation, please contact investigators at 318-673-6955. This investigation is ongoing.
Hardy was charged with one (1) count of illegal use of a firearm and was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
