Another Of Bossier’s Busiest Roads To Be Closed This Week
As the old cliché goes, "Careful what you wish for, you might just get it."
Case and point is the current driving condition in Bossier City.
For years many of us have rightfully wished for Bossier roads to see much needed attention. We just didn't realize it would all come at one time.
With the current major $117 million I-20 reconstruction project slowing travel to a snail's pace through the city and the construction of the new Walter O. Bigby Carriageway further stunting the movement of traffic, travel in Bossier City has actually gotten easier done on bicycle.
And coming this week, those who live in the Bossier City neighborhoods of Stockwell Place, Carriage Oaks, Victorian Point and such, will have another obstacle to navigate.
According to the post from Bossier City, Louisiana on Facebook, the 5000 block of Shed Road near I-220 will be closed this Wednesday, July 31 from 7:00 am to Friday, August 2 at 4:00 pm.
Their post points out that workers will be working to rehab the railroad crossing at this point and that everyone will have to detour using alternative routes to navigate through the area.
Obviously this work will be done weather permitting, but outside the stifling heat, there's not much in the forecast that would prevent the work from being completed on time.
Of course, all travelers will need to remember that beginning next week, on Tuesday, August 6 the I-20 eastbound off-ramp and the westbound on and off-ramps at Industrial Drive will be closed until late September as part of the I-20 reconstruction, so thankfully this closure should be cleared up before that one begins.
