(UPDATE) Another Murder in Shreveport as 2016 Winds Down

The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office has released the name of Shreveport's latest violent death victim.

Officials were called to the 4000 block of Golf Links Boulevard, north of Greenwood Road and just east of Curtis Lane, just after 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, where the body of Phadarius Danzell Hughes, 21, was found in the parking lot of the Briarwood Apartments. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

Hughes was in the driver's seat of a small car that had run into the side of one of the units of the apartments. The vehicle had several bullet holes through the driver's side window and rear glass.

2016 will end with more violence in Shreveport.

One man is dead after being shot several times while in his car. It happened in the 4200 block of Golf Links  Boulevard at about 12:30 Saturday morning.

Police responded to a shots fired call and found the man in his car with multiple gunshot wounds. The car ran into a building shortly after the shooting. No suspects have been arrested.
