Residents north of Shreveport felt a little shaking happening Thursday night when our area was hit by another earthquake. This was the 2nd quake in one day and the 3rd earthquake in our area in the last 2 weeks.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) says this latest quake was felt in the Blanchard area at about 7:45 Thursday night. It registered 3.1 on the Richter scale with the epicenter just west of Blanchard.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday, our area recorded another quake. That one registered 2.5 on the Richter scale and was centered near Uncertain, Texas.

On April 1st, the USGS also reported an earthquake in the Blanchard area measuring 3.0. More than 3 dozen residents reported feeling that quake.
