Though LeAnn Rimes was born in Jackson, Mississippi in 1982, she was actually raised in Texas and from a very early age, she showed a musical ability well beyond her years.

At the tender age of 13, Rimes stormed into the hearts of country music fans with her southern/Texas musical influence in her debut top-ten single, "Blue."

That single was so wildly successful that her 1996 album of the same name was certified six times Platinum and established her as a major country artist.

Since those early days, Rimes has released another 62 singles and her ballad “How Do I Live” still holds the record as Billboard’s Hot 100 all-time #1 hit by a female artist and currently ranks #6 on Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time: Hot 100 Songs” list.

Rimes crossed into a number of music genres including pop, contemporary Christian, adult contemporary and dance-pop, so her popularity is not only multi-dimensional, but multi-generational.

And now she'll bring all that musical ability to Shreveport's world renown "The Strand Theatre" on Friday, September 20 at 7:30 pm.
