The Monroe News Star is reporting that Grambling Senior Wide Receiver Darrell Clark and his younger brother were shot Wednesday night. Police say the shooting happened in New Orleans near a basketball court. Clark's brother has died from his injuries.

Clark is listed on the Grambling website as being from New Orleans, and a graduate of Warren Easton High School. He was originally committed as a 3-star athlete to University of Arizona, but ultimately joined the Grambling program.

Clark was a member of the Times-Picayune "Nifty 50" in 2015, after his senior year where he totaled 862 yards and 17 touchdowns.

According to the Monroe News Star, Grambling Tight Ends Coach Darrell Kitchen was the first to confirm the shooting. He told the paper:

“From what I’m hearing, (Clark) will make it, I am just distraught about the whole situation.”

Clark is coming off a solid 2018 season, where he had 232 yards and found the endzone 3 times.
