I Love Having Friends and Family Visit Town.

One of my favorite things to do is show them around Shreveport-Bossier and most importantly let them try all the delicious restaurants in the area. However there are some things that I just am sick of explaining and after talking to some friends, it's safe to say we are all sick and tired of having to explain these things.

There Are 5 Things That We Hate Explaining When People From Out of Town Visit.

Are you tired of explaining these same things as well?

We Know the Street Lights Are Never On at the Right Time.

That is IF they work at all. If you are driving down I-20 and it's dark, you will need to rely on your vehicle's headlights. It is almost a fun game at this point, will the streetlights be on or are we all going to be driving in the dark?

Potholes, Potholes Everywhere.

This picture probably has 28,927 potholes in it. Are your tires going to make it? We don't know. Can you see the potholes from a small airplane over Shreveport? Yes. Will the city of Shreveport do anything about our pothole problem? Probably not, we are sorry and tell your wheels that life gets better after they cross the border into Texas.

The Ugly Bronze Building Along I-20.

This is the building that Shreveport is collectively just embarrassed about. We aren't kidding when we say we don't know why anyone in their right mind would want to build this thing. Will it be torn down soon? We hope so. Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" song comes to mind when we drive past this hideous thing. Trust us, we think it's ugly too and we have no idea why it's there.

Your Windshield Will Stay Cracked.

That's a cute car you have there it'd be a shame if you had a rock just come up and hit your windshield and crack it. Oh, you want your car to look decent? Sorry, cracked windshields and messed up wheels are what we are used to around here, don't invest in a nice car around here.

We Aren't Close to New Orleans, Not Even Remotely Close.

No, we can't just get up and take off for a quick little turn and burn in New Orleans, it is at least a 5-hour drive and you will be exhausted getting there and coming home from your little getaway. If you come to visit us in Shreveport, we aren't going to sneak away to New Orleans for the day.
