The 2019 Billboard Music Awards brought all genres of music together for one night on Wednesday, May 1, in Las Vegas.

Taylor Swift kicked off the awards show with her first-ever live performance of "Me!" featuring Panic! At the Disco's Brendon Urie. And even though Swift didn't release new music in the eligibility period, she was still nominated for Top Female Artist and Top Touring Artist. Also during the 2019 BBMAs, Dan + Shay performed "Speechless" alongside Tori Kelly and were nominated for Top Country Artist, Top Country Duo/Group and Top Country Album for their latest self-titled album.

Florida Georgia Line presented during the show and were nominated for four awards. The pair won for Top Country song and received the Top Country Duo/Group award. Kane Brown walked the carpet with his wife, Katelyn Jae — their first carpet since announcing they're expecting a baby together, their first child. Brown also presented and was nominated for Top Country Artist, Top Country Male, Top Country Album for Kane Brown, and Top Country Song for "Heaven."

The night's host, Kelly Clarkson, took the stage to perform not once, but two times. The first time was her monologue, during which she mashed up famous songs from this year, from all genres and nominees. She also performed a song from her new film UglyDolls, "Broken & Beautiful."
