There are those tragic events in life that you will never forget when and where you were when you heard the news. September 11th, Space Shuttle Challenger Explosion, Assassination of JFK and the death of Dale Earnhardt.

13 years ago today Dale Earnhardt passed away in Daytona. February 18th, 2001, after 22 years of Winston Cup racing, “The Intimidator” died in a multi-car crash on the last lap of the Daytona 500. He was 49. The driver of the black #3 car was considered one of the best NASCAR drivers of all time. He won a total of 76 races over the course of his career and earned 7 NASCAR Winston Cup Championships, which is tied for the most all time with Richard Petty.
