If you're into archery for whitetail deer, you certainly don't need me to tell you that bow season begins here in Area 2 of Northwest Louisiana in one week on October 1.  Just 7 days til it's "game on" for 4 full months.  However, it was much harder for me to find out exactly when Youth Deer Season begins.  After a lot of digging through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries 2013-14 Hunting  Regulations Pamphlet, I was finally able to discern that it begins October 12 and will run for a full week this year until October 18, allowing parents/guardians who might normally work on Saturday or Sunday, alternate days for the youth to be able to harvest a deer.

Additionally youths 17 or younger can use any legal weapon to harvest a deer during the "Primitive Weapons Season" which for Area 2 runs October 19 through October 25.  See insert below.
