If you're like Gary you’re one of those people who use your debit card for everything which could cost you in the long run. With the news recently of Target and others stores getting hacked of credit card numbers, email address and more you need to be careful where you use your debit card because your bank account could be cleaned out. According to experts, here are the four riskiest places to use a debit card. We bet you’ve used your card here in the last week.

1. Outdoor ATMs. Basically, don't use an ATM at all if it's outdoors and out of the way. This is the ideal location for thieves to install skimmer devices which gives them everything they need to copy your card.

2. Gas pumps. This is the same trick, but it's even easier because so many gas stations are unattended at night. Some owners have to check their pumps every single morning because they get hit so often.

3. Online stores. Always use credit online. Credit cards have much better fraud protection. Thieves can get information from your own computer using malware, hack into your wireless network, or steal info right from the merchant.

4. Restaurants. Every time you use plastic to pay at a restaurant, a stranger takes your card out of sight for five minutes or more. They could be doing anything with your information.

After a data breach potentially compromised the personal information of some 70 million people, Target's promised free credit monitoring to customers. Guests have until April 23, 2014 to take advantage of one free year of credit monitoring by signing up at creditmonitoring.target.com. The service is offered to anyone who has shopped at Target stores, not just during the timeframe when they believe the hack happened between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15, when the company says they discovered the breach.
