Why ADDAM Should Win the $50K LA Film Prize
Meet ADDAM, he is the central character in one of the short films competing for the $50,000 Louisiana Film Prize. Why should you go to the festival and vote for ADDAM? Because if you do, I'll win $1,000!
I volunteered to be "ambassador" for the film. That just means that I'm the local contact for these out-of-town film-makers who are competing for the LA Film Prize. If their movie wins the top prize, I'll win $1,000 for helping them. So come on, help a brother out. Daddy needs a new TV. ;)
Alex Nystrom is the writer and director of the film, he's from New Orleans. He and his crew will be in town on October 9-12th when the LA Film Prize Festival goes down in downtown Shreveport. Of course, ADDAM was shot entirely in the Shreveport-Bossier area, one of the requirements to enter the film festival.
The LA Film Prize has already brought over $5 million into the local economy, just one of the reasons why we should support this community endeavor.
I was able to talk with Alex and he explained a little more about why he chose to enter into the LA Film Prize and what his film is all about.
ADDAM is a comedy about a college student battling his "fantastical imagination" while taking his final exams. Alex once described the movie to me as "a love letter to those with A.D.D." I can relate because... hey look, a squirrel! Wait, what was I talking about?
Anyways, Alex and I sure would appreciate a vote at the LA Film Prize Festival. Come out October 9-12th and experience something truly different for the area. You can purchase tickets here. You can also register to win VIP tickets below.
