It didn't take long for 18-year-old Benton High School senior Garrett Jacobs to become this season's heart throb on American Idol. However, he ended up in the 'danger zone' Monday night... Did the judges save him or did his Idol journey end?

Both Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie didn't sound too promising after Garrett tried to sing his way to safety, however, Katy Perry thought Monday's song was his best performance yet when he sang Have You Ever Seen The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Remember, when it comes to making it to the top 10, 6 of the contestants are selected via voting and the judges pick the other remaining 4 contestants...

Okay, let's break it down. Here's who made it through by America's votes: Catie Turner, Michael Woodard, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Gabby Barrett, Cade Foehner (Shelbyville, TX) and Maddie Poppe.

As soon as Ada Vox was done singing for her save, the judges decided to send her to the top 10 right on the spot. When we returned from commercial break, Jurnee was the next to be saved followed by Michelle Sussett. With only one place left to go in the top ten, I was ready to throw my keyboard through the screen as Ryan Seacrest stretched the whole process out! So who was the final contestant in the top 10? It turns out it was Dennis Lorenzo.

Unfortunately, Monday tonight was the end of the road for our own Garrett Jacobs on American Idol, but I hope he knows how proud of him we are. He represented our area well and for that we are grateful!

Here's the song Garrett sang Sunday, April 22, 2018 for America's first vote from former Idol winner Phillip Phillips.
