It was on this date in 1996 that President Clinton approved the first minimum wage increase in 5 years, raising the hourly minimum by 90 cents to $5.15 per hour. I (Tracy) remember that well, because that meant my pay went up to $5.15 from $4.75. Do you remember what minimum wage was when you started working?

When Gary McCoy entered the workforce, many, many, many years ago minimum wage was a whoppin' $2.90 an hour. That sure doesn't seem like a whole lot of money, but think about the prices of gas and groceries back then and how much those prices have climbed through the years.
