I've got 3 sons and until last week I was pretty sure they really didn't care for each other at all.  But my youngest son, Colt, took a little time to write a letter to his oldest brother, Buddy, that just made my heart smile.

If you've got more than one child, and one of those kids is college age, odds are that the younger sibling is already trying to assume control of the departing kids' room, possibly some clothes and maybe even their place at the dinner table.  But have you ever thought they might actually "miss" that child when he/she heads off to college?

The thought never occurred to me until last week, when my youngest, Colt, was off at Church Camp, and he took the time to write this letter to his oldest brother, Buddy.

Yeah, I'm a big old redneck but it made me squall like a baby.  I would have never thought he even noticed Buddy was gone.  So, if you've got one about to head off to school, maybe you try to have them spend a little extra time with that little brother/sister.

It might be the last time they ever get to be "kids" together.
