It’s the first weekend of deer season for bow hunters so the deer leases are going to be full. Bossier Parish Rifle Range Open to Public: The range, located at 2955 Old Plain Dealing Road in Plain Dealing, will be open on Friday and Saturday on Oct 3-4, with hours of operation from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. The range will not be open for public use on Oct. 10-11. The range features 12 shooting lanes with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. (more)

Dixie Maze Farm’s Haunted Maze: If you’re ready for the spooky holiday you may want to grab your friends and scare up some fun inside a haunted corn maze. Dixie Maze Farms has a number of great attractions from the haunted maze to a haunted trail and zombie paintball. Not everything is available everyday so make sure you check out there website for what’s going on what days. Dixie Maze farm is open now through November 1st. (more)

Caddo Sheriff Fish Fry: Fundraiser to Benefit Angel Tree Program . From 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. this Friday, October 3, at the south substation, 9956 Mansfield Road, near Keithville. Money raised at the event will be used the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Lunches are $6 and include fish, fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, and cake. (more)
