Weekend Events for Shreveport and Bossier City

It’s the first weekend of deer season for bow hunters so the deer leases are going to be full. If you’re one of those rare people in Kiss Country who isn’t into sitting in a deer stand for hours then there is a lot you can do this weekend instead. Everything from the kick off of the Red River Revel to a brand new haunted house that will freak you out!!. What ever you’re looking to do this weekend we’ve got ya covered.

Bossier Parish Rifle Range Open to Public: The range, located at 2955 Old Plain Dealing Road in Plain Dealing, will be open on Friday and Saturday on Oct 3-4, with hours of operation from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. The range will not be open for public use on Oct. 10-11. The range features 12 shooting lanes with targets at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. (more)

Dixie Maze Farm’s Haunted Maze: If you’re ready for the spooky holiday you may want to grab your friends and scare up some fun inside a haunted corn maze. Dixie Maze Farms has a number of great attractions from the haunted maze to a haunted trail and zombie paintball. Not everything is available everyday so make sure you check out there website for what’s going on what days. Dixie Maze farm is open now through November 1st. (more)

Caddo Sheriff Fish Fry: Fundraiser to Benefit Angel Tree Program . From 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. this Friday, October 3, at the south substation, 9956 Mansfield Road, near Keithville. Money raised at the event will be used the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Lunches are $6 and include fish, fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, and cake. (more)

“Red Out” For Coach Rodney Guin: This evening fans will gather for a special home game at Haughton High stadium to see match-up between Haughton High School and St. Mary Natchitoches football teams. This year’s American Heart Association “Red Out” game will honor Coach Rodney Guin. (more)

“NecroManor”: Brand New Haunted House Opens tonight at 7pm. In the old Reeves Marine building next to Century Link Center with tours starting this Friday and continuing through Halloween. (more)

Pay It Forward Networking Walk, Run or Roll: In Memory of Lexi Gordon Saturday from 7:30 am until 10:00 am at the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City. And making a special appearance will be “Uncle” Si from Duck Dynasty along with Si’s Sweet Tea Team which will consist of all previous PIFN wish recipients! (more)

Red River Revel: Kicks off Saturday and will run through October 11 at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport at 11am. The Red River Revel is Louisiana’s largest outdoor arts festival. The Revel attracts more than 150,000 visitors to enjoy live music, the arts and great food. (more)

Operation Santa Claus 5K: Operation Santa Claus provides hundreds, if not thousands, of toys each year for local children Caddo and Bossier parish. The first ever Operation Santa Claus 5K will be Sunday, October 5th beginning at the LSUS campus on the East Kings Highway side. (more)

Ghosts of the Municipal: Ghost Hunt This Sunday from 6:30 -11:00pm. “Ghosts of the Municipal” is a public ghost hunt conducted by Historic Haunts of Shreveport and Louisiana Spirits North Chapter inside one of the most haunted places in America.The tour will explore all areas of this great Shreveport landmark with Louisiana Spirits North Chapter team of paranormal investigators.
