Benton Christmas on The Square Festival and Parade
Saturday, Dec. 8

A full day of family fun returns 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Benton Christmas on The Square Festival with the following:

  • Dash Around the Square 5k Run;
  • Yertle the Turtle in the Sci-Port Discovery Center tent
  • Large children's area with inflatables
  • Face painting, arts, crafts and games
  • Live entertainment
  • Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus
  • Santa's Little Red Wagon Parade
  • Christmas Parade. (starts at 3 p.m.)

Winter Wonderland of Lights – Marshall, TX:

Open Friday in downtown Marshall at 4pm with ice skating, music, bus tours and lots to eat and drink. It will be open again Saturday and Sunday at 4pm with a variety of different events and musical attractions each night

Natchitoches Festival of Lights 2012

Over 300,000+ Christmas lights and 100 plus riverbank set pieces are on every night at dusk through January 6, 2013. Downtown attractions include carriage tours through the historic district. Shops and restaurants are open late. All events take place in the Landmark Historic District along the Cane River Lake and along the Cane River Lake south of Natchitoches.

High School Football Championship Games:

Haynesville and Ouachita Christian will play at the Super Dome in New Orleans Friday at 4pm for the 1A state championship

Saturday at 12 noon Evangel Academy meets John Curtis for the 2A state Champ also in Super Dome…you can listen to it live on AM 1130 the Tiger

Concert:

Neal McCoy at the Horseshoe Riverdome Saturday Dec 8th at 8pm
