If you’re a hunter, fisherman and/or avid outdoorsman this is the weekend you’ve been waiting for. The Sportsman’s Expo starts today and goes all weekend long. The all ages event is perfect to get out of the heat. Plus, there are a number of other events you can take the kids to this weekend as well. Check out all the great events below.

Sportsman’s Expo: This year’s Sportsman’s Expo kicks off today at the Shreveport Convention Center and it's bigger and better than ever, featuring amazing special guests, live music and great vendors. Each day has different hours, which are as follows: Friday, August 22 — 4 – 8 p.m; Saturday, August 23 — 10 a.m. 7 p.m.; and Sunday, August 24 — 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (more)

James Burton Foundation’s International Guitar Festival: August 22 through August 24 this year, with some awesome performances scheduled for August 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium in downtown Shreveport. The Foundation released the incredible list of this year’s performers. (more)

Shreveport Farmers Market: The Saturday morning event at Festival Plaza kicks off at 7am features live music, homegrown fruits and vegetables. As well as, jams, jellies, prepared food, art and more. (more)

25th Annual Auction Against Aids: Saturday night at the Horseshoe Casino Riverdome and this year’s theme is ‘Stars of the Silver Screen’ and the Philadelphia Center’s Black and White Ball won’t disappoint! Each year, the event gets bigger and better. (more)

Jamie Lynn Spears:  All ages show at the Stage at Silverstar starts at 7.  In 2013, Spears launched her career as a country music recording artist, and released her debut single "How Could I Want More". (more)
