It's only fitting that this Monday, on the 4th of July, that Kevin and Theresa Russell will have their dreams publicly unveiled with the Warrior Horse mural at Greenacres Middle School in Bossier City.

Warrior Horse has been a dream for three years for the couple and it's finally coming to fruition. The program pairs veterans with PTSD with retired racehorses in a unique equine therapy program. Frankly, it's hard to say who benefits more, the vets or the horses! You know I'm the crazy horse lady on the radio, but I'm also the daughter of an Air Force Vietnam Veteran.

Did you know that we lose 22 vets to PTSD each day? That's nearly one an hour and the counseling through the different VA programs clearly aren't cutting it. We hope that you'll find it in your heart to support Warrior Horse. The program is completely funded by the community and it costs about $2,500 per vet for the program. I've written my check, I hope you do too! If you want to find out more, make sure you join us Monday at 10am at Greenacres Middle School.
