This Friday, November 11th is Veterans Day, but the State Fair of Louisiana will honor Veterans this Sunday, November 13th with a special parade down the midway starting at 2pm.

This is the 5th Annual Veterans Parade and Honor Ceremony and Louisiana's largest parade honoring Veterans. The parade boasts over 100 units and 2,400+ participants including high school marching bands, cheerleaders, JROTC units, VFW posts, members from Barksdale Air Force Base and more!

This year's grand marshall is the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary, Col. Joey Strickland. The announcers are Dan and Jacque Jovic from KTAL Channel 6.

At around 3:30pm, at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, 12 Veterans will be honored for their service. The first 5,000 fair goers on Sunday will receive a a free American flag. All Veterans, Active duty military and their families will be admitted free with free parking.
