With the upcoming Labor Day weekend I expect that we will see plenty of folks packing the Shreveport area lakes and rivers for the last long weekend of summer in Kiss Country. Unfortunately we have been crushed with 15 months of drought and the waterways have suffered. So as you are preparing for some fun in the sun this weekend, remember to use caution when you hit the water as the levels are lower than normal all across the Ark-La-Tex.

No one likes an extra bill. And all it takes is one little bump on a stump to tear a hole in your watercraft. . then you will spit out a string of nasty words, maybe kick something, and your Labor Day weekend will wrap up in an ugly way.

The water level is so low at Grand Bayou in Coushatta, that they are asking for people to please not jet ski, water ski, or tube the area this Labor Day weekend. Grand Bayou is currently 38- 40 inches lower than normal. Grand Bayou's beach and resort area will be open for registered guests.

Y'all be safe this Labor Day weekend! Enjoy some LSU Football and an extra day off!!
