Team USA is sitting in 6th place after the first weekend of competition in Rio for the Olympic games tied with New Zealand.

Being the crazy horse lady on the radio, you should have known I'd be following equestrian events in Rio and the US is holding their own... but I expect for them to really show their stuff today out on cross country.

Let's face it, eventers are okay with dressage, but they can't wait to run fast and jump high! Let the German's have their lead with dressage! Speaking of the Germans, the French did give them a scare of the weekend in dressage. I don't think anyone that the German's could be beat with Rolex winner Michael Jung on the team, but they eventually won in the sand box.

Of course, there were some incredible tests ridden over the weekend but the big excitement came when a bullet was shot through the roof of the media tent at the Equestrian Center. It happened during the lunch break on the first day. Thankfully no one was hurt and it didn't disrupt competition. Of course, we don't want any more excitement like that but the kind of excitement I'd like to see is Brit William Fox Pitt continuing his incredible comeback after 10 months in a coma.

Eventing individual and team cross country gets underway this morning at 8am! If you're like me, you'll be live streaming it at work and cheering on Team USA!
