Twin City Roller Derby Hosting Recruit Night This Week

The Twin City Roller Derby is hosting a recruit night tomorrow (Monday). This would be a great chance for you to find out if roller derby is right for you. I originally wanted to tryout roller derby because I wanted to meet new friends and attempt to get active again.

Their recruit night will begin at 6 pm, according to their event page on Facebook.

You don’t have to go out and buy a pair of skates just to tryout the sport. The team has extra supplies for recruits. All you need to bring is a mouth guard and some water.

The practice will take place Highland Center Ministries off Olive Street in Shreveport. You’ll learn the basics and about bouts. Just don’t end up like me. I broke my leg at my recruit night, but from what I understand my incident was a freak accident. I’m just an unlucky person. Don’t let that turn you away from the sport. Roller derby is a great way to get active and be apart of a team.
